1. What do you think the film is about? What aspects contribute for your opinion about it?

2. Can you think of possible reasons for the title of the film?

4. Do you usually spend a lot of money in clothes and accesssories? How often do you buy new clothes?

5. Do you care about the way you look and about the way people see you?

C. While –viewing activities

Now, let’s start viewing the film.

Pick up a pen and get ready to write all the words/expressions related to fashion and the ones you didn’t know previously. Remember you never know everything, especially when we are speaking about a language, either ours or a foreign one. If you write those words/expressions, you’ll learn them better and will certainly memorise them with less difficulty. Furthermore, you will be contextualizing them and it will work like a charm! J

1. Pay attention to the background music in the first scenes. Describe it and try to find a reason for such a choice.

2. How does the main character appear for the first time in the film? Refer to the light, image, music, the way she moves and speaks. The director had an intention when choosing all that carefully. What was it?


3. As the film goes on, this character is going through a lot of changes. Again, try to describe the way she looks, the music, the light, the way she moves, speaks and dresses.

4. Now do the same with Miranda.

Nevertheless, the job _______(become) extremely demanding, because of Miranda's tough work rhythm and nearly impossible tasks, leaving Andrea without a private life with her boyfriend, family and friends. Maybe the old Andrea ________(go), now more preoccupied about her image and her future in the magazine.
